How exactly does Zenova FP fire protection paint protect from fire?

Answer:

When Zenova FP fire protection paint comes into contact with an intense heat source (e.g. flames) the paint reacts and transforms into what looks like a black foam. This foam will not burn and acts as a thermal insulation layer between the heat source and whatever substrate Zenova FP fire protection paint is applied to.

The foam greatly slows the heat from transferring to the substrate and, therefore, prevents it from catching fire easily and reduces a fire’s ability to spread.
