How is Zenova FP fire protection paint applied?

Answer:

Zenova FP fire protection paint can be applied by brush, roller, or airless sprayer. Whilst no specialist equipment or training is necessary to apply Zenova FP fire protection paint, optimal results are achieved when Zenova FP fire protection paint is applied by a professional contractor using an airless spray gun.

Application by airless spray gun allows the recommended application thickness to be achieved through several very thin layers of the paints, rather than one or two thicker coats. This ensures a more attractive finish to the painted surface, a more even application of Zenova FP fire protection paint and helps avoids gaps in the paint which can affect its performance and fire safety effectiveness.

Application instructions are provided with Zenova FP fire protection paint and are also in Zenova’s Technical Data Sheet which can be downloaded from Zenova’s website. The instructions include the correct process for preparing surfaces, the use of Zenova primer, the recommended and optimal application thickness of Zenova FP fire protection paint, and drying times required between coats. A recommended equipment guide can also be found on Zenova’s website.
