In this test we used two identical armchairs to demonstrate a Class A fire. This fire could be started in a home simply by dropping a cigarette butt on the sofa, or even by a lithium battery in a cell phone/laptop.
Test one; we initially knock down the fire with a regular water extinguisher. To knock down this relatively small fire we use a full 9L of water, and you can see that after just minutes the armchair re-ignites and becomes fully engulfed.
Test two; we again let the armchair fire build to over 1000 degrees F, but this time we knock the fire down with Zenova FX. Using Zenova FX it takes less than one litre to completely knock down the fire, and once the fire was out you can see that we are able to remove the protective glove and grab the burnt armchair as it is completely cool to touch with no chance of re-ignition.
