Gardiner Associates Training and Research assess Zenova WB and Zenova FX500

Zenova believes in the importance of independent testing and verification, as a result, we put all our products through rigorous and continuous testing and trials. In line with this we enlisted the services of Gardiner Associates (GATR) Fire Investigation Training & Research to put the Zenova WB and Zenova FX500 products through their paces.

Gardiner Associates Training and Research (GATR) is Europe's largest provider of inter-agency fire investigation training providing services to police and fire authorities. The company ethos is to deliver training by people who possess and practice intrinsic skills in the specific subject areas that they teach and that training should be delivered by people who possess and practice intrinsic skills in the subject areas that they teach. To that end, from its launch in 1996, Gardiner Associates has assembled a multi-disciplined team of practitioners. These professionals, who are amongst the most highly experienced and skilled in their disciplines, bring to the classroom and the training ground a wealth of practical insight and techniques. Representatives of the majority of British fire and police authorities and former Forensic Science Service (FSS) laboratories have already attended training programmes at GATR and in the past, the FSS has used their practical training facilities to assess and accredit forensic scientists.

The team spent the day conducting trials on the Zenova FX500 and Zenova WB. Part of the trials conducted on the Zenova WB were to assess potential future commercial uses of the product. This involved applying a diluted concentration of Zenova WB onto pine trees to assess the products ability to prevent these trees from igniting when exposed to a fire load. Pine trees are notorious for their combustible nature and can cause extensive damage to property and threaten lives when ignited. The results from these tests were encouraging and we look forward to exploring this more.

The highlight of the day, however, was witnessing the effectiveness of the Zenova FX500 first hand. The fire extinguisher outperformed expectations in multiple simulated industrial and residential situations. The team from GATR recreated scenarios which an individual might be confronted with. These included a chip pan fire and an electric toaster fire, to name a few. In each test the Zenova FX500 performed incredibly efficiently. Highlighting the effectiveness of the Zenova FX500 as a handheld fire extinguisher and further enhancing its reputation ahead of its upcoming launch.
