Housing

Improving insulation, and fire safety, are two of the most pressing issues facing the UK housing sector today.

With a third of a property’s heat lost through uninsulated walls, and a quarter through uninsulated roofs and loft spaces, ensuring a property is well insulated is essential to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions. And yet, the UK has some of the oldest and most poorly insulated properties in Europe, with an estimated 25 million homes requiring improved insulation by 2050 to meet carbon emission targets.

Meanwhile, an estimated 4.6 million properties in the UK have been impacted by the cladding crisis that has engulfed the housing sector, either because they have unsafe cladding or because fire safety concerns have come to light, including the safety of materials used during a building’s construction.

Whether you are a property owner, residential landlord, social housing provider, property developer or a tenant, addressing these issues is increasingly urgent.

However, whilst existing products can help solve some insulation and fire safety issues, many of these issues can only be solved by retrofitting properties (installing insulation or fire safety measure after a building has been constructed) which adds to the cost and disruption of solving these issues.

Fortunately, Zenova’s insulation and fire safety products are perfectly suited to improve insulation and fire safety in both new constructions and when retrofitting is required.

They can be applied by existing tradespeople following a small amount of training, and the nature of the products means that they provide quick, affordable and highly effective solutions to many of the insulation and fire safety issues the UK housing sector faces.

Zenova’s insulation render and insulation paint can be applied internally and externally to dramatically improve a building’s insulation level and, because they stop condensation forming, also help prevent damp and mould forming inside of properties.

Zenova’s fire resistant paint is non-toxic, complies with the most stringent fire safety testing standards and can be applied to almost any surface to stop the ignition and transfer of fire.

With Zenova’s products being inexpensive, easy to apply, durable, thoroughly tested and environmentally friendly, they are perfectly suited for use in any housing setting to ensure residents are warmer when it is cold, cooler when it is hot, and safe by stopping the outbreak and spread of fire.
