Zenova Group PLC (“Zenova”, the “Company” or the “Group”), a provider of innovative fire safety and heat management technology and products, is pleased to announce that Southdown Housing
Association has selected its innovative insulation products for a pilot project making use of the insulating properties and capabilities of Zenova IR render and Zenova IP paint, with a view to installing the products across the trust’s estate where required.
Zenova is undertaking a full pilot with Southdown Housing to assist them in reducing their carbon footprint under the new Government legislation guidelines of zero carbon emissions. With most local authorities looking to achieve this target by 2030, Zenova’s innovative products can contribute significantly to accomplishing these objectives. Building operational emissions, which include heating, cooling and lighting, contribute to 28% of all global emissions.
The pilot is located in a semi-detached residential property that will be rendered using Zenova IR and Zenova IP within the roof space. Southdown Housing is a specialist charity housing provider and social landlord for vulnerable people, with 580 properties based in Sussex County. It was established in 1972 and has grown to become one of the largest voluntary sector employers in Sussex,
providing care and support for over 10,000 people.
Tony Crawley, Chief Executive Officer of Zenova Group PLC, said:
“We are pleased to be assisting with this very important pilot scheme with Southdown Housing, which will demonstrate the powerful effectiveness of the Zenova range of insulating products. The housing sector, local authorities, trusts and businesses in particular have some key obligations to meet with carbon reduction targets, driven by new legislation to reduce global warming. This impending need to improve the fabric of buildings offers a significant market potential for the Zenova products. The pilot programme will prove the effectiveness of Zenova products to save energy costs under real-world circumstances and will enable rapid expansion of Zenova products across multiple building societies.”

Note to Editors:
The Group, through Zenova Ltd, is the holder of intellectual property that underpins a suite of fire safety and temperature management products and technology. The product range is applicable to industrial, commercial, and residential markets. The Group’s products include fire retardant paints, insulating paints and render, fire extinguishing fluid and applications. Through innovative development, and a refined formulation and development process, Zenova provides industry leading solutions across a range of fire protection and temperature management problems, comprising:
A water-based fire-resistant paint that prevents ignition and spread of fire. It can be used in commercial, industrial and domestic applications on variety of materials, from wood to metal.
Patent pending fire extinguisher filled with proprietary Zenova Fluid (Zenova FXB) that extinguishes all types of fires, reduces chances of re-ignition, works in cold (-15 ̊C) conditions, is non-toxic and does not produce harmful by-products.
Thermal insulating paint that provides thermal reflection of sunrays & infrared radiation, anticondensation and anti-mould properties. It can be applied to virtually any exterior or interior material, regardless of the surface.
Thermal insulating render to enhance the effectiveness of insulation by creating a thermo shield. It fills all cavities and gaps regardless of geometric shape and creates a vacuum – the most effective insulator.
Patent pending next generation ceiling sprinkler filled with proprietary Zenova Fluid (Zenova FXB) that removes the need to install large fluid tanks, piping, complicated equipment and software. This sprinkler could be installed in the kitchen.
The Group has achieved this without compromising the sustainability of natural and economical resources, including personal health and safety, with ecologically sound products.
